Then you might be able to make a distinction in language on the series / hero page in the left menu. For example in the case of Lucky Luke: you just enter it under the normal series / hero name "Lucky Luke" but indicate that it is English in the language. Subsequently, in the left menu in the row of series (Dupuis, Lucky Luke collection etc etc) a distinction can be made between Dutch and foreign series. I can imagine that you just see the row of series that you see now, but that you have a sub-heading “English” below it (which you have to get from the 'language' field) with the series that appeared in that language below.

I am also in favor of mentioning publications in other languages. They are in your collection after all. (Would be honourable, René: a cabinet in every collection with the sign 'Uncategorized stuff' on it.) I'm also in favor because I'd like to import all my secondary material in the long term, and that includes a lot of foreign language stuff.

Whether it's guessed right or wrong ... we never comment ... So many names have been mentioned over the years ... And this is another one that popped up a few years ago ...

That's a good point. You can now indicate the language per album in the “Other language / dialect” field at the bottom of the list of characteristics that you can enter for a comic. Only do if it is not in Dutch.
Since that is known, in theory it is not necessary to distinguish between the series name (so Lucky Luke English is actually superfluous). Certainly because we will offer even better selection options in the near future where you can select on combinations of fields. Within the Lucky Luke series, for example, on editions in the English language of publisher Cinebook. Or on French Tintins in combination with Uncoloured when coloring.
But now that all the serial names are going to change, I think it is too drastic a step. But let's see if the extensive selection options are available. For now please fill in the field “Other language / dialect” where necessary.

From experience I can say that your feedback is being responded to - and appreciated! So come on with those ideas :-)

Where do you indicate the language? On a series / hero level or on a series level? For example, I saw that with Lucky Luke the distinction is already made at series / hero level; so you can choose "Lucky Luke" or "Lucky Luke". Subsequently, the series are indicated here in the relevant language.
This also seems a logical way to me, because otherwise you would get series in all kinds of languages mixed up.

I have added "self-managed" editions of some authors and entered "self-managed" at "publisher". In others I saw the name of the author mentioned by "publisher". What is the best? In itself, someone who publishes something in-house is of course not yet a publisher ...

We've only just gotten live, but nice shops have already opened on Catawiki. You can give your shop its own look by replacing the standard shop banner (top plate at the top of the shop) with your own version. This is possible in My Profile. True works of art are already emerging. My personal top 3 is:

I think that many Dutch and Belgian comic book fans are also interested in certain foreign publications. These may be albums that have not (yet) been released in Dutch in a series. But also think of the avid Tintin collector who collects Tintin in all languages. There are more than you think. So as far as we are concerned, these can be fine on the site where it is good to indicate the language in the field concerned (and that is also good to do for publications in Dutch dialects and in the Frisian language, because that is not dialect, you shouldn't make that mistake in Friesland :-)

We prefer to have scans of comics instead of photos. Because scans are more beautiful and clearer. But… we still prefer a photo to no image at all. So nice in itself if someone adds a photo. Then it can always be changed later in a scan. This principle also applies to the quality requirement for a scan: rather a low resolution and small format than no scan at all. But we prefer it, as also described in our Help under the heading Catalog: We recommend a size of the photo of 700 pixels wide so that users can zoom in on the photo. Images must be added in one of the following formats: .jpg, .gif or .png.

The browser you use partly determines how a site looks on your screen and how you can use the site. For Catawiki we support the following (most used) browsers: Firefox versions 2 and 3, Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7, Safari and Google Chrome. If you view the site with other browsers you may run into problems.
Maybe you can consider a switch? We can heartily recommend Firefox 3. Free, safe and works perfectly. You can download it here

While looking at the site I occasionally come across foreign comics ... I think the site is www.catawiki.nl true the nl stands for the Netherlands. Only Dutch comics would, I think, cover the load perfectly!

Het zou de kwaliteit van catawiki ten goede komen als er alleen scans van strips worden geplaatst… niet bijvoorbeeld een foto van een strip waar je een groot gedeelte van de tafel nog ziet waar deze op ligt.
Minimale kwaliteitseis?

It would improve the quality of catawiki if only scans of comics are posted… not, for example, a photo of a comic where you can still see a large part of the table it is on.

As a Dutch person I am naturally interested in the trade :-) I am therefore curious whether the list of expensive comics on the main section page of Comics is correct (for comics in “good condition”). Doris Dobbel (Marc Sleen) is now at the top because I know that it was auctioned for that amount (incl. Auction costs). So please here for information about expensive comics.
