An ISBN (the n stands for number) belongs with dashes, even though they are sometimes put in the books without dashes.
Until last year, a Dutch ISBN looked like this:
90-uuuuu-vv-c
90 is the country code, the u's stand for publisher number, the v's for serial number and the c for control number.
The length of both publisher number and serial number varies. Depending on the amount of books expected to be published, a number of positions are assigned for the serial number. The remaining positions are then the publisher number.
A large publisher such as Standaard has publisher number 02, which means that they can use a lot of serial numbers.
A small publisher like Stripstift has number 74539 , so there are only 2
positions (100 books) remain for the serial number. When the serial numbers have run out, the publisher is assigned a new publisher number. That happened recently at Lombard, I believe.
If you don't know where to place the dashes, type the number as one number. That will be adjusted later by someone who does know.
From 2007, all Dutch numbers are preceded by the code 978- or 979-.

And that he also remember which topics on the forum I have read and which not? Because I think I only see those green "unread" icons when a new message is posted during my current login time ...

I have placed the albums containing Scrooge McDuck under the series / hero "Scrooge McDuck" and not under "Uncle Scrooge". This has the following reasons:
- It seemed more logical to me to mention Scrooge McDuck by his full name, just as Uncle Donald is called by his full name, which is Donald Duck.
- At comic fairs, the albums of Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck are usually placed side by side, so sorted by "Duck".
- When you search for "Duck", you will find both Scrooge McDuck and Donald.

Isbn numbers, also something like that. Sometimes I come across them with spaces, sometimes with dashes, sometimes just in one piece. I don't know if for example dashes cause problems in a search function?

I see that Arco has simply put the foreign publications in the normal list at Donald Duck. Now my solution did not deserve the beauty prize, but now the foreign series have passed through the Dutch series and the list of series is also getting very long. I think a classification by language in the sequence menu would be a good solution. (but I already said that ;-))

That's why I said:
“You can also overcome this by also taking the purchase date as a value; that you only include "fresh" data from the past few years. "

Hmm, I don't understand what went wrong there, with those 7 superstrips. Indeed, there was not much (er, nothing) about my change. Sorry about that…
That freezing by administrators also seems like a good idea, with the possibility for users to post comments / a change suggestion ...

Maybe 1953 is a better option for the projector, this is mentioned on the eric site with the videos.
I see that laralava Natasja added booklets, which I think are already there,
Album series: natasja

I now see a film projector as an object with Eric de Noorman. Very beautiful, but it says 1940 as the year. That does not seem to me to be entirely correct because Eric only started after the war. Eric de Noorman's site indicates the late 1940s and early 1950s.

That seems like a good suggestion for stories.
In any case, take the title for the album title as indeed on the cover.

There are a number of question marks about this. One that is emerging now is:
- Do you enter the foreign title or the Dutch?
Until now everyone is doing something, namely.
Instinctively I want to enter the foreign title as it appears on the cover, and then for the stories, for example, the foreign story titles with the Dutch titles in brackets behind them, and the original story number. Something like that ...

Indeed, I don't think silkscreen ex-libris, etc. are really suitable for collecting under curiosities.
My preference is for a separate category.

I haven't had any problems with that. What strikes me is that you add an item the first time, you can only fill in a story, artist and writer once, then save and edit the item again to add the following stories.
I also notice that you sometimes have to wait for a response from DBS which will automatically show the selection list.
What I always do to be on the safe side is not to enter the full name, so that the drop-down list appears, and I can click on the correct name.

If you want to add a second author (screenwriter, draftsman, ...), you will no longer see a selection list that automatically completes what you have already typed in.
This means that you can still enter the same author incorrectly with the result that a new author is supposedly created.

Good point!
Maybe list the “carriers” (cd, lp, single, etc.) that appear in a collection area in the left column as a selection option? Just like album series with comic series.

I think anything that is not made of paper is curiosities anyway. For example, a projector has been added to Eric de Noorman / Kresse, very special and rare thing !, but we still have to move it to curiosities.
For prints and screen prints, advertisements with a comic strip on it, knispels have already been created. But you can certainly argue about that.
Soon there will be more filter options or selection options and they can easily be filtered out if you do not want to see them. So please fill in the Type correctly. You can also link multiple types to items.

That's not so nice about Deblouw. However, I know Eelke as a precise and organized person. Maybe it was an experiment. Thanks for correcting anyway.
That's a good suggestion. That freeze. I had not yet seen that possibility. Then an administrator might be able to freeze an album if he is sure that all info is complete and correct.
Someone must be able to send a signal to administrators if he thinks that something needs to be changed about the frozen item.
And: the value should of course not be frozen because it can fluctuate over time.

I was actually thinking about freezing.
An example of what not to do.
To clarify: catalog maker Deblouw decided to sit here and transform the collection of “7 super comics” into “35 years of Jan, Jans and the children” without thinking about it. In the meantime I corrected the error.
35 years of Jan, Jans and the children does not date from 2006 and does not include the stories Lili Natal by Suske en wiske and De veldtocht by De rode knight.
Wouldn't have had a problem with it if the album had been completely corrected.

The problem is that people do have such a one-shot in that place in their cupboard. I have created an album series "One-time releases" that can include the kind of books that cannot be assigned to an existing sub-series. As an example, see Agent 327, which I took care of yesterday evening / tonight. We should not want series / hero to be labeled "One-time release". One-shots will then simply keep their full name in the series overviews.
