I haven't had any problems with that. What strikes me is that you add an item the first time, you can only fill in a story, artist and writer once, then save and edit the item again to add the following stories.
I also notice that you sometimes have to wait for a response from DBS which will automatically show the selection list.
What I always do to be on the safe side is not to enter the full name, so that the drop-down list appears, and I can click on the correct name.

If you want to add a second author (screenwriter, draftsman, ...), you will no longer see a selection list that automatically completes what you have already typed in.
This means that you can still enter the same author incorrectly with the result that a new author is supposedly created.

Good point!
Maybe list the “carriers” (cd, lp, single, etc.) that appear in a collection area in the left column as a selection option? Just like album series with comic series.

I think anything that is not made of paper is curiosities anyway. For example, a projector has been added to Eric de Noorman / Kresse, very special and rare thing !, but we still have to move it to curiosities.
For prints and screen prints, advertisements with a comic strip on it, knispels have already been created. But you can certainly argue about that.
Soon there will be more filter options or selection options and they can easily be filtered out if you do not want to see them. So please fill in the Type correctly. You can also link multiple types to items.

That's not so nice about Deblouw. However, I know Eelke as a precise and organized person. Maybe it was an experiment. Thanks for correcting anyway.
That's a good suggestion. That freeze. I had not yet seen that possibility. Then an administrator might be able to freeze an album if he is sure that all info is complete and correct.
Someone must be able to send a signal to administrators if he thinks that something needs to be changed about the frozen item.
And: the value should of course not be frozen because it can fluctuate over time.

Yes, this is how you lose albums from your collection, or you get albums in your collection that you would not like to have for free ... (;-)

I was actually thinking about freezing.
An example of what not to do.
To clarify: catalog maker Deblouw decided to sit here and transform the collection of “7 super comics” into “35 years of Jan, Jans and the children” without thinking about it. In the meantime I corrected the error.
35 years of Jan, Jans and the children does not date from 2006 and does not include the stories Lili Natal by Suske en wiske and De veldtocht by De rode knight.
Wouldn't have had a problem with it if the album had been completely corrected.

The problem is that people do have such a one-shot in that place in their cupboard. I have created an album series "One-time releases" that can include the kind of books that cannot be assigned to an existing sub-series. As an example, see Agent 327, which I took care of yesterday evening / tonight. We should not want series / hero to be labeled "One-time release". One-shots will then simply keep their full name in the series overviews.

Series - Album Series - Title is indeed the correct order. The only thing that could be introduced in addition to this is to indicate the main album series (you could call it main series).

Instinctively, I would put stand-alone prints, ex-libris, serigraphs and original drawings / pages under curiosities, but there are quite different views about it.
For a 'regular album collector' it seems quite confusing to me to mix everything up to be seen.

No, I didn't really mean that. I am concerned that if there is a reprint of an album with many different stories, you have to enter all those stories again. A duplication option from the first edition would be a godsend.
Furthermore, in one effort I questioned whether it is desirable in any case to re-record all those stories with every unchanged edition, but that is actually a different question.

I'm starting to get lost a bit now with “album series” and “main series”.
The definition does not become clear.
an example if I understand… ..
main sequence: suske and wiske
album series: four-color series, or eg mini albums, ...
I am used to working with “Series” - “Album series” - and “Album title (s)”.
What Rene says last doesn't really get through to me.
I can no longer recognize the simplicity from what Rene says now.

I am in favor of what arco said first: that an HC sequence and an SC sequence are made. Why will it not be good if some comic series are not released entirely in HC, or not released as HC series?
The main category is clear. That's the point, right?
HC series (or edition) or SC series (or edition).

I'm not sure what we should call that number. But with that you could still number Doc Silver nr 1 to 5.
Serial number and Serial number?

I like the idea. The database designer knows whether it will be a difficult problem. Because I understand that it means that you will have to be able to enter multiple front and back cover images for 1 type of album release?

it's whether the devil is playing. I reread it yesterday! Yes, it is great. I actually love everything about Asterix.

Take a look at Agent 327, a series I'm working on today. I added the album series "Paraphernalia" there. Looks chic and covers the load.
Everything that is not a book or magazine can be classified under this category. Curiosa was indeed not the right word on closer inspection.
