Personally I always enjoy these kinds of overviews (although I don't collect stamps), because they make optimal use of the available data.

I can also imagine that many collectors ( who only want to know what their seal is worth) no longer see the wood for the trees. But perhaps that is a matter of "education", after all, you also have to learn to use a printed catalog. And splitting this catalog (in time) into a "Beginners" and "Advanced" level will certainly help too.

What you have to consider is that for the bulk of the stamps, these types of schemes may not be will provide extra relevant information, because there is simply too little data available.

I am slowly becoming happy with the suggestions, also the better link with the collection.

Raoul62 About using the tabs on the catalog item page at the top next to the image to indicate that something is already in your shop, collection or search list:

In itself an interesting idea. Given the space (also on mobile), I think it would be better to show the green icon that we now also use in the gallery to indicate that something is in your shop, collection or search list. Then you just don't see the condition. Is that bad?

Oh no, not very much, just a little :)  In any case a real step forward:
if you can immediately see in detail under which list (collection or list of values) you should click ... And if there is no icon, you can immediately get started with the 'orange' buttons if necessary. Without the danger of something getting duplicated.
Actually you can replace the entire text with an icon: basket instead of 'For sale', eye for 'In wish list' and grid (cube?) for Collectors.
The Pictograms are something special (did I say genius?): the foundation of LD. Can be used anywhere. With the advantage: takes up less space and does not need to be translated. They are really the basic forms of LD: 'Shop - Collection - Wish'. At present there are 3 basic lists. Who knows, cf. my idea in another thread, will there be a 4th one ... 'On order' ... a shopping cart? :)).
And because it's the basics, it only needs to be explained once (on the 'Quick Start on LD' overview map).

I don't think so, because lots of new people land on an item page via Google who then don't immediately have an idea what those icons stand for Raoul62

Well, what good is 'Collectors' and 'in Search List' for them. Whether there is text on it or an icon ...
I looked at it and a stranger, not a user, sees indeed all the names of the collectors ...  Should be reserved for a logged in user ...  This invites to anonymous sniffer stuff.

If anyone doesn't get it, all the more reason to look further afield to understand the real primary basis of LD. Then he might be interested, right? Or, as there is now a question mark in many places: also put a question mark next to the pictograms, which unlocks the document 'Quick Start on LD' (overview map) ...
Admittedly, those pictograms are not that difficult . It's not something mysterious that you have to memorize.

An icon for experienced users with a mouse-over description still takes up less space than writing everything out in full.

Well, what's the point of 'Collectors' and 'in List of Values'.

In any case, it makes it clearer what you can do on our site: keep track of your collection and search list; buying and selling things.

Admittedly, those icons are not that difficult.

I think you're overestimating that a bit. For someone who is not familiar with the site, they are really not immediately clear.

A bit of mystery always attracts attention.
Say it yourself: just naked or disguised in lingerie with some work on it ... Oh well let me dream :)

The icons, as a special feature of LD, could also be a bit more prominent ...  A strong brand with a strong recognisability, you know.
If you make a mouse-over at the top (on every screen) on the name 'LASTDODO' ... and you expand the overview (promo numbers) slightly on the main screen (new list included of course :)), then it could look like this:

Then 95% would be 'in the loop' in no time without ever having to open / read a manual, 'quick start' or whatever.

We already like our logo Raoul62 :-)

But it's not a bad idea to do something with those icons at the numbers on the homepage. Let's think about it.

If I may go back to the earlier discussion in this thread, about catalog value versus sales:
Which may also help - and maybe not such a big adjustment - is to add the date to the catalog value indicate when it was last modified. Just as is already happening with the sales data. See screenshot below, imagine on the red line a text like 'last modified on August 28, 2021'

A catalog value has not been adjusted for 10 years and that same item was sold last last month, you can guess that the latter values say more about what you can ask yourself. And vice versa: an item that was last sold in 2016, but with catalog value that was still adjusted in the summer of 2021, then the latter may be more up to date.

Usually you will retrieve a more recent change to that LD Catalog value from history.
If that value was entered a long time ago, you won't find it.

Unless the item is from a another section will be added (transferred via 'WRONG SECTION'). In the latter case, data will be lost.

Is the ultimate conclusion that when you add a new item, you should preferably enter a list price?
For example by manually looking at external asking prices/auctions?
Or would you rather leave it blank?
