Ieder z'n ding. Voor mij gaat muziek toch vooral over hoe het klinkt (mooi of interessant) en over de emotie die het bij mij oproept (waarmee de emotie van de artiest niet per se wordt bedoeld).

Het is zo extreem warm, hoe heeft het zover kunnen komen? Tijd voor deze klassieker van de Talking Heads (hoewel, 'Take me to the River' is misschien toepasselijker).

To each their own. For me, music is primarily about how it sounds (beautiful or interesting) and the emotion it evokes in me (which does not necessarily refer to the artist's emotion).

It is so extremely hot, how did it come to this? Time for this classic by the Talking Heads (although, 'Take me to the River' might be more appropriate).

Ik heb wel graag dat wat emotie en passie zit in de muziek. Ook al sta je bij een concert en weet je dat de band/artiest het misschien voor de 785 keer speelt, dan toch is het fijn als ze helemaal voor gaan met veel passie. Een aangepaste versie van een stuk gedraaide hit kan dan wel eens voor afwisseling zorgen.

I do appreciate it when there is some emotion and passion in the music. Even if you are at a concert and know that the band or artist is perhaps playing it for the 785th time, it is still nice when they go all out with a lot of passion. A modified version of a hit that has been played frequently can sometimes provide a welcome change.

Nu zijn ze samengevoegd onder zijn artiestennaam Alvin Stardust.

Volgens mij zit er wel een emotie in, maar het is misschien niet een emotie die je herkent.  In ieder geval krijg ik er een heel prettig gevoel van.

Het nummer van Edith Piaf is natuurlijk een klassieker, maar ik zou het zelf niet gauw opzetten. Ik vind het wel mooi.

Overigens beoordeel ik muziek niet per se op basis van de vertolkte emoties. Ik ben bijvoorbeeld dol op een aantal nummers van Chic, maar daarin wordt wel heel emotieloos gezongen. Is dat een bezwaar? Voor mij niet.

Nog een loom nummer, dat ook heel koel, ik bedoel cool, is. Isaac Hayes: Do Your Thing.

I think there is an emotion in it, but it might not be an emotion you recognize. In any case, it gives me a very pleasant feeling.

Edith Piaf's song is a classic, of course, but I wouldn't be quick to put it on myself. I do think it's beautiful, though.

Incidentally, I don't necessarily judge music based on the emotions conveyed. For example, I love a number of songs by Chic, but the singing in them is very emotionless. Is that a drawback? Not for me.

Ik heb net een bij een CD de tracks toegevoegd. Tot mijn verbazing heeft de artiest Alvin Stardust twee eigen namen. Welke is nu de juiste? en kan dit ook samengevoegd worden

I can imagine that. I have been using Lastdodo for quite some time to collect and sell stamps. I once started sorting through my music collection.

Dat gaat ook gebeuren. We zijn bezig met het verwisselen van "echte" namen met aliassen, maar dat is een behoorlijke klus en we zijn nog niet bij de O ;-) Tijdens die omzetting voegen we ook dubbelen samen. Komt uiteindelijk allemaal wel goed.

That is going to happen too. We are in the process of swapping "real" names with aliases, but that is quite a job and we haven't reached the O yet ;-) During that conversion, we are also merging duplicates. It will all work out in the end.

Ik zie dat de Belgische artiest/producer Ozark Henry er drie keer in staat. Een keer onder zijn Artiestennaam Ozark Henry en twee keer staat zijn eigen naar er ook bij. Mij lijkt het handig die samen te gooien onder zijn Artiestennaam.

I see that the Belgian artist/producer Ozark Henry is listed three times. Once under his artist name Ozark Henry, and his real name is also listed twice. It seems sensible to me to group them together under his artist name.

Thanks. Er waren nog oude groepjes items weggeschreven onder Various artists en Various. Die heb ik nu ook allemaal veranderd in Diverse artiesten. Zodat alles netje bij elkaar staat. Various artists en Various staan nu op 0. Dus die zullen verdwijnen.

Ik heb iets wat ik mij al een tijdje afvraag. Waarom staat er achter diverse artiesten, multi artistes?
Ik neem aan dat het hier om een vertaling naar het Engels gaat? Maar dan zou het multi artists moeten zijn.
Maar misschien is er een andere reden waarom het zo genoemd is.

I have something I've been wondering about for a while. Why does it say "multi artistes" after diverse artists?
I assume this concerns a translation into English? But then it should be multi-artists.
But perhaps there is another reason why it is named that.
