The book Beekman en Beekman by Toon Kortooms can be found in the catalog as follows:

Edition 1960: Reprint

1962 edition: First edition.

I don't think this is correct, can someone who has more knowledge of this take a look at this?

Perhaps it concerns "Brabant novel first part and second part. These books were published for the first time in 49. So these should both be reprints. The KB does not show copies from the 1960s.

The books I am referring to are the following:

1996979

1378337

These are both from the 1960s and the first edition is mentioned at the bottom, that doesn't seem to be correct, does it?

It's just like Jilles says. The only real 1st edition is from '49. The copies in the catalog are therefore both reprints.

And now also earmarked as such.

@ Jilles and Pegag,

I understand from you that the 1st edition is from 1949.

Let me just have an edition from 1949 in the closet! Will this be the first printing? (I don't know much about books myself, miss can you help me?)

Here is a photo of the books, and of the 1st page where the year is stated:

I am not completely convinced yet.

It may be copyright 1949, but unfortunately that does not mean that the print itself is from 1949.

Thanks Pegag, for thinking along!

How could I find out what pressure this is here? There is also nothing of a print mentioned in the books.

Whatever one way it is to compare with the other reprints. How is it listed there if it is already listed and what do they look like?

If it is completely different, the chance that you will have a 1st edition is already greater.

Hello, I saw that you have some knowledge of Toon Kortooms' books. I suspect that I have a first edition of De broeders Beekman from 1949, it also contains 2 signatures. Perhaps you know what the value of this could be if this turns out to be correct?

I don't think anyone really knows much about this, you might be better off contacting the museum at the Show Kortooms Park .

I don't think there are very many fans of his work left, but a real first edition is always interesting. As far as the signatures are concerned, it will really depend on who they are. Kortooms signed a very recognizable bird in the form of a bird, but the information that can be found on the internet does not tell you when he started it.
