I think there is some confusion about this. the subject "country". Is this the nationality of the manufacturer of the model or the country where the original model was / is being produced?

The intention was where it was produced. I have added an explanation to the entry form and named the label “Country of production model car”. Do you think there is also a need for an extra field for production country original model?

I can find the country of origin or in other cases the country of the importer in the collection of my models.
Golf gti hold the importer's country while Dinkyger. country of production.
Briefly, this means that Dinky Toys with the text England or France suddenly come from Hong Kong. while 2 ambulances from my collection with the text made in China now come from the Netherlands.
But also 2 planes of the same model are now coming from England and one from Hong Kong.

I had already noticed, from GolfGTI, that he changed the production country for my imported cars.
While it clearly says made in China on the bottom, and the client (minichamps) comes from Germany.
I just left it there.

(I am not an expert)

Today, 99% of model cars are manufactured in Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan).
This is mainly done for the price, low wages, etc.

Traditionally there are brands such as Schuco and Siku for example,
ever founded in germany. There, cars designed and produced for several years. But increasing competition has more or less forced production to move to Asia.
Thus, Schuco, Minichamps and Siku actually still place Germany as the country of origin.
At ROS , Bburago it is Italy, at Solido, Altaya, Atlas, France is also not China, Japan, Hong Kong, etc.

You can therefore often deduce from the models the manufacturers what influences eg Minichamps has. Originally a German brand, this brand often releases Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Opel, BMW , but is made in China.

You can therefore often deduce from the models and manufacturers which influences, for example, Minichamps has. This is an originally German brand and often releases Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Opel, BMW , but is made in China.

This point also applies to model trains. Even Märklin has models made in China. There are also hybrids where the hood comes from China and the engine from Germany or Hungary. What then is decisive, the assembly? Or take the Märklin Harry Potter train, is in a German starter set, the model is from the English Hornby who had it produced in China. I don't know if it is still relevant in today's open international market. If a mold is towed from Germany to Poland or China, the same car emerges. in many cases it is probably impossible to find out where the whole or the parts come from.
If material or design differ, that will of course be different.

And let's face it, the 1:1 Toyota we call a Japanese car but often comes from Great Britain, and some models of the German Volkswagen sold here roll off the line in Brazil…..

Yes about you I know golf gti but dinkger does just the opposite, moving the country to the country of origin.
So Dinky Toys England is moved to Hong Kong, and from France just like that.
but catalog number 1162321 comes from Hong Kong and 1162325 from England.
So this is where the problem lies, I think, so there is not an even line.
Think that the administrators should talk about this among themselves.
Provides more clarity.
Golf you already explained this to me once why you did that.

@Golfgti
Perhaps it is useful that you put that list that you keep about countries in the forum: add appointments data.

And I know you are doing your best, keep it up.

VAT
Good job with all those IXO models Golfgti.

Unless there is something on the bottom of the model itself, I will keep the country of origin of the manufacturer as the production country.

@ autofan : If you don't know, then you shouldn't fill in, I think. It might be a good guess, but we still want a Catalog that has been filled in truthfully, right?

I think there is always an expert who knows the answer or knows where to put it. can look up.

But I am not an administrator of this collection section, so do the administrators agree?

Better to leave it empty indeed. I guess I have to enter another item or 70 to get the entire collection in the catalog and I will follow that guideline.
