Ladies and gentlemen ! I have a little prayer for you - will you please stop giving your completely absurd values to the models ? Found a Dinky Toys Ford Transit Police which was £500.00 in " good condition " - this is over 10 times its true value ! And why ? Because the price - setters apparently tried to sell his personal copy at this price !

I have nothing against you trying to sell things at the prices you want , but never mind destroying the simultaneous ' destroy ' list prices! It makes no sense when unique hand-built models or very old and rare cars rattle down on price lists just because someone wants to be funny , or make a lot of money on sales .

One thing to make mistakes , we can all do - maybe we think something , maybe , our data is not completely up to date , maybe ... But putting so wrong value is not a coincidence - it 's sabotage and destroy Catawiki objectivity and professionalism.

I know there are other examples , albeit not as strong , but look at some newer Batman stuff , for example . also seems very high .

When I write that a model was released in 1975 and you know it's from 1977 , so it 's easy to go and fix , but the prices are ( as you know ) much harder , so therefore: be careful of them!
Another thing : the year of publication ! It 's something horrible mess ! There is a difference whether a car was already released in 1965 or a model car was released in 1965 ! There are plenty of models like . Altaya reportedly released in the '60s and '70s . Yes , terrible !

Third thing : I understand that Catawiki want to be internationally oriented ? In that case we would probably also use at least international model names ? Main example " Beetle " - there is no VW model in the international designation Volkswagen Beetle , right? For an Englishman called the " Beetle ", for a German " Käfer " , for a Dane "boble " - for all countries , for example . 1200 , 1300 , 1302 etc - it ' s the only model names we all share , so let ' s use them , at least as the headliner . If you really want to use " beetle " is used , then yank further along in the name :
Not : Volkswagen Beetle Police
but : Volkswagen 1200 Police ( Beetle , Police )
(No, I know Police is n't common to everyone either, but at least it 's more common than Police , and it's the name of a model car in most cases published as . )

For now , all I think is a worse gripe head , so I 'll hasten to say that it 's not to be angry , but rather to give some advice on what to do . Also the longer term and with various international users. The idea is incredibly good as long as it is used properly and I 'm very happy to have found it here ... even if I can use Google Translate to write here! LOL
Greetings from Denmark and
thomas

Dear Thomas,

Nice that you use Catawiki in Denmark! Google Translations works quite well. Early next year there will be a better English version and also an English forum next to the Dutch forum. That will help you use Catawiki even better.

If you think that a list price is incorrect, you can make a price suggestion for the car in question. We were a bit behind in processing price suggestions, but now they are already well handled in a number of sections (comics, coins). I will discuss with the managers of the model car section how to get rid of the backlog in price suggestions there.

There are two fields for the year: the year of production of the model car and the year of production of the car that was modeled. If a year is incorrect, you can change it yourself.

Model car titles will become translatable. You are right that a given title, such as that for model cars, must be different per language. It is different with a title that is on the object, such as on a book or on a CD. They do not need to be translated.

Thank you for your compliments on the idea. We are working hard to improve it internationally and make it more usable in other languages. That is a big challenge, not easy, but in the long term it is achievable I think.

best regards,
René
