Helv or Collectioneur ,

can the Prifix be added as a local catalog in Luxembourg?. I come across this a lot in the details.

Charles1971 this question has been asked before.
My answer then was that it appears that Prifix no longer exists as an independent catalog (and appears to have been taken over by Michel).

What we have not been able to find out is whether the Michel Prifix has now taken over the number of Michel Western Europe.

There are of course still many collectors who own an old Prifix Helv.

On the 2022/2023 it will only be Michel Collectioneur . You're forgotten so quickly.

But they did take Prifix's numbering with them at the time, or do you doubt that?

Helv
The belgian catalog OBP has been discontinued with the numbering of the countries of Congo (Kinshasa), Rwanda and Burundi from 2024.
Does that mean that the numbering is no longer in force?
(Or is this going to be another question that doesn't come up with an answer? I'm just getting used to it in the meantime ...)

Loriot there is indeed no answer to that in advance. If these areas are not included in new catalogs and the second-hand market dries up, it makes little sense to maintain OBP numbers as a service(!) in the longer term.

In this case the situation is even different because Prifix was taken over by Michel and in an intervening period it was called Michel - Prifix and is now called Michel.

I found a page from a Prifix from 1988 and in addition to the Prifix number, the Michel number also seems to be mentioned there. As far as I can tell as a non-area specialist, the last independent prefix was issued 15 years ago (2009) with a reprint in 2018 (already 6 years ago). What is the added value of maintaining Prifix as a separate number? Again, that is the question for the area manager, but of course everyone is welcome to contribute their thoughts.

As a reminder, Michel once renumbered the entire SU. The whole area was then renumbered and the old references were not preserved to please those with an old catalogue.

All old prifix numbers are now listed under the details Helv . Just delete this then? That seems really unfortunate to me. If I want to take the trouble to write this down, why not? In ten or twenty years, the prifix can be removed again if desired.

Incidentatlly,
