Today someone placed an order with me, but the strange thing is that this item in question does not appear in my shop at all, it was there but I removed it years ago. How can someone order something that is not actually there ?

Something is wrong.
LastDodo has not yet reached 10,000,000 (5,000,000 actually).
I looked before writing this here on the forum: the last item was #9989864.
So entered a few minutes before 7 (7:00 PM).

buizer Ah, so if I read it correctly, item number 10144173 doesn't actually exist? Then that is certainly strange. Could there be more shops that are unknowingly affected by this?

The number 10144173 is an order number and can only be viewed by the buyer and seller. Has nothing to do with an item. Please be patient, the problem has been reported.

Could it be that you moved the item in question from your shop to your collection at some point? In the distant past I once experienced an order being placed for an item that I had transferred from my shop to my collection.

Apparently someone had added that item to their cart before I transferred it to my collection. The buyer could then still order it even though it was in my collection.

Since then, I first remove items from my shop and then put them back in my collection.

Ask Collectioneur if we've passed the 10,000,000 import mark yet.
If the item is in your shop, then that item is also in the catalog.
How else do you place items in your shop?
Rather, I think it could just be a different LD number.
What is the correct title of the item?

catacrumpie then it's time you add this game back to your shop, so it can be ordered and sold again. Every time you delete it you will have problems.

catacrumpie Trigopolis @aartinge Collectioneur
Let's check it out.
Coincidentally, there is still a shopping cart (from a long time ago) with 16 items in it.
First 3 items checked.
Are no longer offered by the seller in question.
So either sold to another customer/buyer or removed from his shop.
But I can still order all 16 items, right?
Still just click on continue to order?
And is an order number still created? And the whole process was started.
Even if all 16 have now been 'gone' (sold or removed).
So the problem, I think, lies in the fact that sold/removed items that are still in shopping carts can still be "ordered".
But how do you remove 'such items'? So from the shopping carts.
I go to the catalog, look for the item, but can't order it from seller X. He doesn't offer it anymore.
If I go to my shopping cart, I can still order it. From the same seller X.
Who can never find it again of course...

buizer I don't understand what you said in your previous post because I don't see it that way at all.
I experimented with an order, but didn't actually order them, so I didn't do the full process. Maybe someone can add or confirm. You don't have to be in the catalogue, everything can be done from the order.
- An old shopping cart clearly states in red that the item is no longer available, with a rubbish bin next to it to remove it.
- If I do not delete it and go to "Continue to ordering", it will not be ordered anyway, so it will be automatically deleted.
- If there are no more items available, the order value is 0.00 and the "Continue to order" is not active.
If you or someone else can order something like this, please provide an exact example so that the programmers can search. I can't do it. Or would two users have managed to place their order in exactly the same second?

Yes, that's all correct what you say.
And by the way, I think the only way to empty a shopping cart is to remove the items one by one.
I don't know of any method to delete a shopping cart in one motion.
But... that's not what it's about.
There are 16 items in my shopping cart for an amount of 83 euros.
I created that shopping cart about 2 years ago.
Now I decide to order. So all 16 items.
So I don't delete anything.
I click on the orange order button.
Then the ordering process has been initiated, right?
Even if those 16 items have actually been ordered by others and the transaction(s) have been completed.
I now have 3 shopping carts left.
1 with a value of 83 euros. And which I had already reduced from about 160 to 83 euros.
By throwing iterms in the trash can.
And 2 shopping carts with a value of 0 (zero) euros. Which I completely emptied myself, so I threw items in the trash.
By the way, and there are users who have asked, I would like to explain how I can completely delete a shopping cart.
Otherwise, those shopping carts with 0 (zero) will remain there forever and 3 days.
Because @catacrumpie brought it up, I went to take a look.
In the catalogue.
To find that the first 3 items (of 16) of the shopping cart are no longer offered by the provider.
In other words, sold or removed.
And I did not delete it: either the 'system' or the provider/seller did that.
And it is simple to put.
What is in a shopping cart can always be ordered.
If not today then next week, month, year.
But to my knowledge, the buyer does not receive a warning/message if the item is no longer for sale.
And that's what apparently happened here. The buyer decides to order it and cannot know that the item is no longer offered if he never receives notification.
As a test, I just looked at the first 3 items of those shopping carts in the catalog. And so I could see that they are no longer offered by the seller where my shopping cart of 83 euros is 'parked'.
So I will only know that they are more available to order when I actually order.
And all 16 items have already been shipped out...

Important addition to my previous message.
Completely empty a shopping cart. So value 0 euros.
Click to open the shopping cart again.
Then it literally says: "This shopping cart is empty and contains no items. You removed the items yourself or were removed or sold by the provider."
I go to my shopping cart of 83 euros.
And I see plenty of rubbish bins. There is 1 for each item. But nothing red or any sign that the item(s) can no longer be ordered.
Due to sold or removed by the seller/provider.
So to start with, you have to look at it from the buyer's point of view.
There is a 'kind of linking' of the items to my shopping cart.
But there is also a 'kind of link' from those same items to Purchases if they are actually ordered by someone.
So in my opinion the one problem has never been removed. Even though the item(s) were sold.
If I decide to order now, I already know that I will receive a message from the buyer that those 3 are not available. But only because I started looking at the catalog as a test.
Just start with a shopping cart of, for example, 100 stamps...

And something else bizarre.
So I have 2 shopping carts with a value of 0 euros.
At 1 there is 'something' in red: that I cannot order because my price is below 5 euros, a condition of sale of the seller.

buizer Of course I can't see your shopping carts, but I'll try to apply my info from the previous post to your shopping carts. And then tell me if you see anything different.
- shopping cart with 16 items: 3 have already been sold, at the top it clearly says in red "3 items are no longer available, view items", and you can throw them in the trash yourself.
- shopping cart with 16 items: 3 have already been sold but you do nothing, at the bottom there are only 13 items with a total price and with "continue ordering" you place this partial order of 13.
- in the main screen of My shopping carts, next to each shopping cart there is an Order button and a waste bin, with the Order button you confirm your order (but an order of 0.00 eur is not possible, I already said in a previous message) and with the waste bin the entire order (full or empty) gone.

buizer Terms of sale are in red at the bottom, missing items are in red at the top.
If you don't see red then I would think that all items (83 euros) are available.
If this is not correct, please send a PM with examples to Collectioneur or a screenshot to "info". There is no point in continuing to talk about this on the forum without us seeing this.

Let's try again.
- have a shopping cart of 83 euros consisting of 16 items
- each item has a price and a rubbish bin
- I can remove items (garbage bin)
But: I haven't deleted anything. All 16 items are still in the shopping cart.
However: (as a test)
- I click on item 1 of the shopping cart
- then click on the blue link LD number under catalog details
- I see that the provider does not have/offer the item
- ditto for items 2 and 3 of my shopping cart.
Assuming that the 13 others are available. And I quite effectively. How am I informed that those 3 are not available for order? Yet the buyer who tells me that; Who draws up the invoice? You do not put an item that you do not sell on the invoice.
Previously I do not know that the item is no longer available for order. Seller who can look at his shop and his sales (orders).
So there are 16 in the shopping cart, order all 16; 8 are no longer available: how do I find out/how is this communicated to me?
I didn't think that when I click on the orange order button I will see: item x, item y, etc... no longer available/cannot be ordered.
The seller will contact you when ordering and will inform you...

Will ask the question differently.
By whom and how will I be notified if an item(s) for an order I have placed is/are no longer available?
So what happens after I click on the orange order button?

Click on the shop name in My Shopping Cart and you will see which items are still available. If an item is no longer in the shop, there will be a large red area at the top with a message.

Nope - Nope.
Go to Shopping carts and click on shop name.
Shopping cart list appears.
No box, nothing red.
Then click on the shop name again (with the flag next to it).
And then I get the message that the shop is temporarily closed.
Or is it that?

- You will not receive any emails or follow-up when something has been sold.
- When you look in a shopping cart, there is a red comment at the top

- I logically assume that your 16 items are still available.
- A seller can also cancel after the order (suppose he has just sold the item at a fair and LD has not yet been adjusted)
- If a shop is closed, it is normal that it is no longer visible in the catalogue
- I don't have an example of a closed shop. Can you try what the orange "Continue ordering" does?
