The island of Amoras - On the island of Amoras
16 titles 'On the island of Amoras'.
32 titles 'The island of Amoras'.
That's how it says on the covers.
Under 'Suske and Wiske'.
Only: do you click open those 16 items/titles 'On the island of Amoras' and look at that title there: is it Suske and Wiske everywhere on the island of Amoras?
So the question: Is the title On the Island of Amoras
or Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras?
Think the first thing, right?
Or is this "1st S & W" the exception that proves the rule? And it was left out from number 2.
I am talking about the red series of Flemish
But also the same with the red series Holland.
And the same with Classical.

The series name is only mentioned once. The title on the cover is correct according to the manual. In the 4 color series the album is therefore called "the island of Amoras".

If a series name is mentioned once, but if the series name is omitted an illogical title arises, we will still include the name.

So Suske and Wiske become Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras.

For example, with Asterix you see Asterix twice on the cover of the golden pruning knife.

The title is Asterix and the golden pruning knife.

Yes rikMooren I know what's on the cover is leading
We even copy the spelling errors literally
Only: should 'Suske and Wiske' be included, yes or no?
Just type in: Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras
And you get 3 different 'types' of results:
- Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras
- On the island of Amoras
- The island of Amoras
Is the first result simply a mistake and incorrectly placed in front of it?
And can 'Suske en Wiske' be omitted/removed?
That's what I want to know.
I've even seen one like that from 2013.
And there are also such at HC.
Before I change anything here, I would like the blessing of a comic book administrator(s).

As mentioned earlier; "Suske en Wiske" only appears once on the cover. This is then the name of the series and is not stated in the title.
The exception is if the hero's name is an essential part.

So in this case Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras is correct because "on the island of Amoras" is not a successful title.

I also indicated via email: If a series name (Suske and Wiske) is a clear part of the title, we must add it.

Isn't it actually "The adventures of Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras"?

"Because on the island of Amoras" is not a successful title"?
That's not an argument after all.
And what is that: a successful title?
Can someone please tell me what is on the title page of the 1st edition and/or the 2nd edition.
The structure of No. 1 and No. 2 is identical and also in color.
From number 3 it is clearer because the title is in yellow.
If we ignore 'The Adventures of Van'; then at number 1 you take everything that is in white on the cover as the title; So: Suske and Wiske on the island of Amoras
And at number 2 with the same structure, Suske and Wiske suddenly disappear and it is 'to court' The flying monkey?
And I checked: On the Island of Amoras is the only title of S & W that starts with a preposition.
I look at later albums on the back: invariably 'On the island of Amoras'
Shouldn't an AIAS be used here instead?
The adventures of Suske and Wiske.
That happened later
Suske and Wiske.
And sorry Rik, but there is nothing in the manual about a successful title...

The argument is given in the comics manual:

3.8 Name of the Hero.
We do not include the name of the hero unless it is an essential part of the title

This is the case if the title starts with words like "and, or, on" etc...

But you have to dare to call a cat a cat.
At point 3.8 there is no mention of words such as on and and.
Then include an example in the manual.
At least then there is clarity.
And as always, I keep saying: the fact that we are having a 'discussion' about it is proof that it has not been stated clearly.
And it can be interpreted by everyone in their own way.
And it doesn't matter much.
On the island of Amoras, the search is done by island and Amoras; not on prepositions and connecting words.

I think it's perfectly clear. At 3.8 there is indeed only 1 example with an Asterix album. To keep the manual readable, we will not provide exhaustive examples in the manual.

1 example with 'and' and 1 example with 'on' is not exhaustive.
And there is also the distinction.
One is a linking word and the other is a preposition.
*Or else place it near the title text field when you enter something.
There is already a whole epistle there.
A sentence or two more will also make a difference; don't make it again...

Not 2 sentences, no, but the manual has approximately 180 topics. If you explain them all in more detail, you will get a lot of sentences...

In providing exhaustive explanations with examples, there is also the danger that we will again have discussions about linking or conjunctions that we have not used in the example.

Those 2 sentences don't 'apply' to the manual.
Submit an item to Comics. And what then appears as clarification in the box next to the title field.
That's not exhaustive...
But quite an epistle...
2 sentences won't make a difference there...
