Books/Depicting spines on older books5 messages

Ik zou me sterk willen maken om het afbeelden van ruggen, samen met het voor of achterplat van in ieder geval oude uitgaven toe te staan. De rug van oude boeken biedt door de variaties vaak veel informatie over de uitgave, bovendien helpt het bij de herkenning van de boeken. Per slot van rekening is de rug het enige wat we van een boek zien bij b.v. een antiquariaat. 
Ik weet niet of hier al eens een topic over geweest is, ik heb hem niet kunnen vinden tenminste.

I would like to make a point of allowing the reproduction of spines, together with the front or back cover of at least old editions. Due to the variations, the spine of old books often offers a lot of information about the edition, and it also helps with the recognition of the books. After all, the spine is the only thing we see of a book at, say, an antiquarian bookshop.
I don't know if there has been a thread about this before, at least I couldn't find it.

Bij mijn weten is dat nooit verboden geweest, als 3e afbeelding.

As far as I know, that has never been banned, as the 3rd image.

Het gaat mij meer om bij de 1e of 2e afbeelding, de 3e is in mijn beleving meer voor de titelpagina bedoeld.

I'm more concerned with the 1st or 2nd image, the 3rd is in my opinion more intended for the title page.

Het is zeker nuttig om varianten aan te kunnen geven.  Wellicht beter met de mogelijkheid van een 4e scan voor de rug.  Er zijn ook een aantal boeken waar de titel niet op het voorplat staat,
Zie bijv. #8749997. Dat werd zo wie zo nooit afgekeurd. Waar ik een variant kenbaar wil maken, geef ik dat in de opmerkingen aan. Soms ook via eerst een 3e scan , daarna vervangen voor colofon en/of titelpagina en verwijzen naar de historie voor de van belang zijnde scan/foto, om het boek ( de druk)  beter te kunnen onderscheiden.  Maar is wel voer voor enthousiastelingen en zal zeker niet iedereen boeien a la postzegels.

See e.g. #8749997 . That was never disapproved of. Where I want to make a variant known, I indicate that in the comments. Sometimes also via first a 3rd scan, then replaced for colophon and/or title page and refer to the history for the relevant scan/photo, in order to better distinguish the book (the print). But it is food for enthusiasts and will certainly not fascinate everyone like stamps.
