Menigmaal kom ik nieuwe invoer / wijzigingen tegen die de Matchbox modellen in de Lesney Products zetten.
Op zich niks mis mee, ik zet ze (nu nog even) liever onder Matchbox als fabrikant.

Naar mijn mening is de naam Matchbox bij een veel groter percentage van het gemiddeld publiek bekend.
Slechts een klein deel daarvan weet dat de modellen door de fabrikant Lesney zijn gemaakt.
Mijn voorzichtige schatting is dat slechts 5% van de Matchbox naamkenners* Lesney kennis hebben.
Mijn vraag aan jullie is: moeten we over naar Lesney of moeten we Matchbox behouden als fabrikant?
Mijn stem is 50/50.
50% voor Matchbox - wat een ’volksbegrip’ is geworden. Als ik t zo mag noemen.
50% voor Lesney - voor de simpele reden dat het de feitelijke fabrikant is.
Dan kom ik automatisch op t volgende,
Er is bij het management een nieuw veld aangevraagd.
Het veld ’Serie’ zal hopelijk spoedig worden toegevoegd**.
Dan is het de bedoeling dat we sommige soorten gaan overzetten naar serie.
Voor Matchbox betekend dit dat onder andere Matchbox Regular Wheels,
Matchbox Superfast en Matchbox King Size een serie worden met daarin de soorten.
En al die andere fabrikanten met hun series natuurlijk.
Dan word het hopelijk ook een stuk simpeler om de nummers van de modellen logisch te maken,
bijv een voorstel om de MB in de Superfast serie weg te halen.
Als ze dus eenmaal als serie zijn gemaakt,
NIET daarvoor beginnen met nummers te wijzigen AUB.
* dit hoeft niet altijd een eigenaar van een modelauto te zijn.
** Het wachten is even op een medewerker die met vakantie is,
je weet wel, op t strand, stro-hoed op, voeten omhoog, piña colada… ;)
Many times I come across new entries / changes that put the Matchbox models in the Lesney Products.
Nothing wrong with that, I prefer to put them (for now) under Matchbox as a manufacturer.

In my opinion, the name Matchbox is known to a much larger percentage of the average audience.
Only a small number of them know that the models are made by the manufacturer Lesney.
My conservative estimate is that only 5% of Matchbox name connoisseurs * have Lesney knowledge.
My question to you is: should we move to Lesney or should we keep Matchbox as a manufacturer?
My vote is 50/50.
50% for Matchbox - which has become a "popular term". If I may call it that.
50% for Lesney - for the simple reason that it is the actual manufacturer.
Then I automatically come to the following,
A new field has been requested from management.
The "Series" field will hopefully be added soon **.
Then we intend to transfer some types to series.
For Matchbox this means that, among other things, Matchbox Regular Wheels,
Matchbox Superfast and Matchbox King Size become a series containing the types.
And all those other manufacturers with their series of course.
Then hopefully it will also be a lot easier to make the numbers of the models logical,
e.g. a proposal to remove the MB in the Superfast series to get.
So once they have been created as a series,
PLEASE DO NOT start changing numbers.
* This does not always have to be a model car owner.
** We have to wait a while for an employee who is on vacation,
you know, on the beach, straw hat on, feet up , piña colada…;)
Wat je in ieder geval al kan doen (als alle Matchboxes door Lesney zijn gemaakt) is de naam Lesney invullen als Alias in de fabrikantentabel. Wie dan Lesney intikt ziet direct Matchbox opduiken...
What you can do in any case (if all Matchboxes are made by Lesney) is enter the name Lesney as Alias in the manufacturer table. Who then enters Lesney will immediately see Matchbox pop up ...

Een late reactie: ik kwam pas recent een afwijkend item in mijn verzameling tegen):
Niet alle Matchbox items zijn mijns inziens door Lesney gemaakt (dan staat er Made in England by Lesney onder). Er zijn ook items gemaakt in China door Matchbox International (de afwijkende base-plate vermeldt dan © 1977 Matchbox Int'l Ltd Made in China).
Ik weet helaas niet in welke periode dat was.
A late response: I only recently came across a different item in my collection):
In my opinion, not all Matchbox items are made by Lesney (then it says Made in England by Lesney). There are also items made in China by Matchbox International (the different base-plate then states © 1977 Matchbox Int'l Ltd Made in China).
Unfortunately I don't know when that was.
