Postcards/What kind of card is this?6 messages

I found this card in an old box. It is an unused postcard; there are lines printed on the back where you could write the address.

The card comes from my in-laws who originally come from the area around Slochteren (Groningen). Who can tell more about the image?

Looks like a group of pikemen with a drummer.

Nearby is also Bourtange where they play battles after.

Maybe it will get out of there.

Dat is een hele leuke fotokaart ! Ik heb er Piekeniers groepsfoto van gemaakt, maar als iemand het echt weet, dan moet hij of zij dat maar wijzigen. Verder heb ik er nog wat thema's aan toegevoegd, zodat iedereen deze fotokaart kan vinden. Misschien weten verzamelaars van die thema's er meer van en die kunnen het dan aanvullen. Dat is volgens mij ook een van de voordelen van het thema-veld!

@schipper53: Zou je ook de achterkant kunnen scannen en er aan toevoegen ? Voor de volledigheid is het altijd handig als voor- en achterkant in de CataWiki Catalogus staan. Bovendien kunnen mensen misschien ook informatie van de achterkant halen (maar als hij volledig wit of leeg is, dan graag ook plaatsen). Alvast bedankt.

That's a really nice photo card! I took Piekeniers group photo of it, but if someone really knows, then he or she should change it. I also added some themes, so that everyone can find this photo card. Maybe collectors of those themes know more about it and they can add to it. I think that is also one of the advantages of the theme field!

@schipper53 : Could you also scan the back and add it? For the sake of completeness it is always useful if the front and back are in the CataWiki Catalog. Now just find someone who has more details about this card. Maybe the in-laws know a little more?

Maybe they are re-enacting the Battle of Heiligerlee (1568). That is not so far away than Bourtange.
