After the boom around the sixties of the last century, sugar packets are hardly spared. The declining lack of interest is generally blamed on the beginnings of social media.

In 2014 it is therefore almost impossible to arouse any interest in this hobby, even among a small audience.

The lack of a catalog with carefully chosen pricing for these bags is partly to blame for this.

It was therefore progressive of Catawiki to include a section "sugar packets" in their catalog.

Catawiki appointed administrators and super administrators for this section who would monitor the import of all sugar sachets.

After some time, these administrators turned out not to be in possession of sugar sachets themselves, let alone speak about them with any knowledge.

However, your well-intentioned contribution was often criticized in a fierce tone, which resulted in even less interest in this column. For example, Ton Konincks (alias Tonko48), someone who was very fond of sugar sachets, recently left Catawiki -- (Quote from a confidential letter). Quoting from (certainly confidential) post is not allowed on the forum.

After some time it turned out that these administrators did not have any sugar sachets themselves, let alone speak about them with any knowledge.

Our administrators are all volunteers who sacrifice some of their hobby time to help assess and structure the input of the collection headings. We also have an enthusiastic manager for the sugar bags, albeit with a modest collection, but with sufficient knowledge.

Together with the other collectors, they take care of the construction of the catalog. Mutual understanding and keeping to agreements is indispensable to properly visualize a collection.

The super admin ensures that duplications are removed and overlapping staging areas are merged.

I would like to add that an administrator does not need to be in possession of the relevant sugar bag to assess him for the CataWiki Catalog.

The main point is that a bag is well described in the Catalog, so that other collectors can recognize the bag and can enter their own bag, for example with a variation thereof.

Essential are of course the images!

That actually applies to the entire CataWiki Catalog. Without seeing an item in person, an administrator can only rely on the images.

I used to collect sugar sachets and had many albums with sachets. My sister saved the sugar cubes and sugar sticks. For a horse that she could feed, she said, but secretly she had so many that it really had a collection. At one point we donated the collections to another (younger) enthusiastic collector and he was very happy with it.

Furthermore, I think that it can still be a nice hobby / passion for the youth to get acquainted with the collecting virus.

Off-topic: The only "Juvenile Sin" I have left is my stamp collection, from which I used to deviate from bathtubs full of stamps. Actually, I still hope that I can have my father's collection that has all Dutch stamps (until 1998). He used to work at the Stock Exchange and had a subscription with the PTT for the first day envelopes and new stamps and with the Mint he had the same subscription for the coins 5 times from 1975.

I do not consider my collection Disneyana as a youthful sin, because I am still actively collecting it.

An importer who does not keep the agreements about the import. And tolerate no comment from even someone who knows about sugar sachets. and still changing things that shouldn't be changed and thus become unsortable, well, that helps.

I have a very large collection of sugar cubes and sugar sachets (a few thousand, I think), from many different countries. I even think that there are a number of collector's items. I am wondering now whether these are of any value and whether or not I can sell them.
