F – Bahreïn est un archipel avec 33 îles dans le golfe Persique et l’un des États pétroliers du Moyen-Orient entre le Qatar, l’Arabie saoudite et l’Iran. À la fin du XIXe siècle, l’émirat se mit sous la protection du Royaume-Uni, et est devenu indépendant en 1971 pour être transformé en une monarchie constitutionnelle en 2002.
Les services postaux ont été fournis par l’Inde à partir de 1884 et par la Grande-Bretagne du 1er avril 1948 au 31 décembre 1965. Pendant la période allant jusqu’au 1ier juillet 1960, des timbres d’Inde et de Grande-Bretagne ont été utilisés respectivement, avec une surcharge avec le nom du pays de Bahreïn. Des timbres ont ensuite été émis portant le nom du pays.
E - Bahrain is an archipelago with 33 islands in the Persian Gulf and one of the oil states of the Middle East between Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran. In the late 19th century, the emirate came under the protection of the United Kingdom, and became independent in 1971 to be transformed into a constitutional monarchy in 2002.
Postal services were provided by India from 1884 and by Britain from 1 April 1948 to 31 December 1965. During the period up to July 1, 1960, stamps from India and Britain were used respectively, with an overprint the name of the country of Bahrain. Afterwards stamps were issued bearing the name of the country.
