Niue is een Polynesisch eiland in de zuidelijke Stille Oceaan. Vanaf 1902 werden aparte postzegels uitgegeven voor Niue, dat sinds 1901 deel uitmaakte van de Britse kroonkolonie Nieuw-Zeeland. In 1907 werd Nieuw-Zeeland een autonoom Brits dominion en in 1947 een onafhankelijk Gemenebest realm. In 1974 werd Niue een autonome staat in vrije associatie met Nieuw-Zeeland.
