Après la Deuxième Guerre mondiale la Ligue des Nations fut supprimée et les deux Togos furent mis sous tutelle des Nations Unies en 1946 et gouvernés par la France et la Grande-Bretagne. En 1956 un référendum eut comme conséquence que le Togo britannique allait faire partie du Ghana. Le Togo français devint une république indépendante le 27 avril 1960.
E - To know the previous history of Togo, it is enough to read the background page of German Togo and the Allied occupation of the French and British from 1914 to 1920. After the Second World War, the League of Nations was abolished and the two Togos were placed under guardianship of the United Nations in 1946 and governed by France and Great Britain. In 1956 a referendum resulted in the British Togo becoming part of Ghana. French Togo became an independent republic on 27 April 1960.
