Belangrijkste indicator voor de verzamelwaarde is allereerst de manier waarop de cijfers te zien zijn. LED (lampjes, die dus ook zichtbaar zijn in het donker) rekenmachines zijn meestal ouder en verzamelwaardiger dan rekenmachines met LCD. Er zijn ook wat subtiele uitzonderingen, daar zal ik nog wat berichtjes aan wijden.

Als ik het goed heb zijn in het algemeen de vroege electronische (kantoor) machines met de echte telbuisjes (Nixie) het meest verzamelwaardig, los van exotische handmachientjes, zoals het Liechtensteinse trommeltje, waarvan ik de naam kwijt ben (ben geen rekenmachineverzamelaar, sorry)
