Bij 'Overig' is er geen thema 'Diddl', dus moet het maar via 'Ontwerper' voor de Diddl verzamelaars.
Een ingewikkelde zaak als Diddl nu net je verzamelgebied is. En er zijn nog wel heel wat Diddl verzamelaars. Het wordt mij wel duidelijk waarom die massaal op LD afwezig zijn. Onbegonnen werk. Er is zo veel varia in de items en merchandising dat al die dingen over elvendertig rubrieken verspreid zitten, zonderook maar één gemeenschappelijke factor. Soms lukt het met 'Uitgever' Depesche, soms lukt het met 'Ontwerper' Thomas Goletz, Soms lukt het met Fabrikant Despesche en/of Diddl, soms met 'Trefwoord', soms met 'Thema' ... Ik zou mijn Diddl-verzameling niet willen beheren op LD op dergelijke manier. Er is geen beginnen aan. En waar je meerwaarde wil bieden door Diddl als thema toe te voegen wordt het al zo rap als je het kunt toevoegen weer verwijderd. Waarna 'Koppel verzamelgebied' een leeg scherm oplevert ... Neen, zo krijg je die groep verzamelaars niet over de streep. Ik had er een paar aangeschreven en die vonden het maar niks. Ik kan ze enkel maar gelijk geven. Tevens bezorgt het 'Koppel verzamelgebied' een serieuze deuk. De inspanning loont niet.

A complicated matter if Diddl is your collecting area. And there are still quite a few Diddl collectors. It is becoming clear to me why they are massively absent from LD. A hopeless task. There is so much variation in the items and merchandising that all those things are spread over thirty-eleven categories, without a single common factor. Sometimes it works with 'Publisher' Depesche, sometimes it works with 'Designer' Thomas Goletz, Sometimes it works with Manufacturer Despesche and/or Diddl, sometimes with 'Keyword', sometimes with 'Theme' ... I would not want to manage my Diddl collection on LD in such a way. There is no way to start. And where you want to offer added value by adding Diddl as a theme, it is removed as quickly as you can add it. After which 'Link collection area' produces an empty screen ... No, that's not how you get that group of collectors on board. I had written to a few of them and they didn't like it at all. I can only agree with them. Also the 'Couple collection area' gives a serious dent. The effort is not worth it.

Blijft weinig attractief. We zien wel of dat die verzamelaars over de streep zal trekken ... Ik vrees er eigenlijk wel een beetje voor.
Raoul62 Overdrijven heb je tot een kunst verheven, dat gaat intussen averechts werken. Dat er bij Overig geen thema Diddl is, komt doordat er niemand dit heeft ingevoerd. Het is een vrij veld, dus iedereen kan dat thema invoeren. Dat thema's niet iets overkoepelend zijn, heeft stripspeldjes al duidelijk uitgelegd. Dat het zoeken op Diddl niet alle gewenste resultaten opleveren, is geheel afhankelijk van de invoer door verzamelaars. Dat een thema als Diddl wordt verwijderd, lijkt me niet juist. Gaarne via een pb dit aan mij doorgeven.
Raoul62 You have raised exaggeration to an art form, but it is now backfiring. The fact that there is no theme Diddl in Other is because no one has entered it. It is a free field, so anyone can enter that theme. That themes are not something overarching, stripspeldjes has already clearly explained. That searching on Diddl does not yield all desired results, is entirely dependent on the input by collectors. That a theme like Diddl is removed, seems wrong to me. Please let me know via a PM.
Bij ansichtkaarten blijken er nu 2 benamingen voor 'Uitgever alg. naam' te zijn. Moeilijk selecteren, want met de filters kun je nog altijd niet combineren (beperkt tot één keuze). Het veld 'Uitgever alg. naam' is dacht ik bedoeld om dat euvel te overstijgen.

For postcards there now appear to be 2 names for 'Publisher general name'. Difficult selection, because with the filters you still cannot combine (limited to one choice). I think the 'Publisher general name' field is intended to overcome that problem.
Neen, niks overdrijven. Ik kijk gewoon over de muurtjes heen, niet met een paardenbril op. Als Thema niet rubriekoverschrijvend mag zijn, moet er dan maar een nieuw veld bijkomen dat in alle rubrieken wordt gebruikt (maar niet misbruikt): 'Verzamelgebied'. Voor de Themaverzamelaars. Ik had laatst contact met een verzamelaar van Uiltjes. Je wil niet horen wat zijn mening was over LD. Maar het voelde wel wat uilig aan. Bij ansichtkaarten moet je eerst ff een selectie maken op 'Dieren: Uil', en vervolgens een selectie op 'Vogels: Uilen'. Bij Beeldjes lukt het om enkel met 'Vogels: Uilen' een selectie te maken. Bij Postzegels is 'Uilen' voldoende. Bij Boeken zou ik begot niet weten hoe je boeken met/over Uilen er uit kunt krijgen. De Fabeltjeskrant (ik weet van vroeger dat daar een meneer de Uil in voor komt) er uit halen lukt, maar verder ... ...

If Theme cannot be cross-sectional, then a new field should be added that is used in all sections (but not abused): 'Collection area'. For the Theme collectors. I was recently in contact with a collector of Owls. You don't want to hear what his opinion was about LD. But it did feel a bit owlish. For postcards you first have to make a selection on 'Animals: Owl', and then a selection on 'Birds: Owls'. At Beeldjes it is only possible to make a selection with 'Birds: Owls'. For Stamps, 'Owls' will suffice. In Books I wouldn't know how to get books with/about Owls out. I can get the Fabeltjeskrant out (I know from the past that there's a Mr. Owl in it), but otherwise... ...

De mensen die dat hebben opgezet, hebben dat uit goede bedoelingen gedaan om in de overzichten alle Vogels e.d. in een lijst te zien. Dit werkt niet optimaal in een digitale database. Als je een thema als Batman tevoorschijn wilt halen, moet je niet hoeven te kijken bij Strips: Batman en bij Films: Batman, maar gewoon bij Batman. Dan kun je vandaar uit verder filteren.
Met overdrijven doel ik zeker niet op je inhoudelijke bezwaren, maar wat je telkens daarbij poneert. Dat heeft geen meerwaarde voor LastDodo, wel je inhoudelijke opmerkingen.
Een overkoepelend veld hoeft niet, als je gaat zoeken op bijvoorbeeld Diddl, komen de relevante items naar voren in het resultaat. Worden ze niet zichtbaar, dan zijn de velden niet juist ingevuld.
Raoul62 What you say about multiple themes being used in some sections (Birds: Owls, etc.) is a pity and something we should try to avoid. The people who set that up did so with good intentions to see all Birds etc. in one list in the overviews. This doesn't work optimally in a digital database. If you want to bring up a theme like Batman, you shouldn't have to look at Comics: Batman and at Films: Batman, but just at Batman. Then you can filter further from there.
By exaggerating I certainly do not mean your substantive objections, but what you constantly posit. That has no added value for LastDodo, but your substantive comments do.
An umbrella field is not necessary, if you search for example Diddl, the relevant items will appear in the result. If they are not visible, the fields are not filled in correctly.
