Dear administrators,

when putting up a poster I came across the following quirk.

When choosing Type I can choose from the following 4:

Placard
Educational poster
Poster
Wall decoration

However, when I read the accompanying text of the field I see:

Choose from:
1) Placard (advertising / poster)
2) Educational poster (e.g. school posters)
3) Wall decoration (Posters to embellish the interior)

Me assume that the value 'Poster' should not be included in the choices, but that one must choose from one of the other options? Can this option be removed? Now it is confusing as this would be the default option for all items in this category.

Thanks

McRad

I also find those three unclear ... (;-)

Me too, but multiple definitions for 1 field is more annoying.

And it is not possible to filter by, so the field cannot be very important even if it is in second place when entering of an item.

We have 2,571 posters, 403 educational posters, 921 wall decorations and ... 649 posters. I really have no idea where to move those posters ...

Are there any administrators with good ideas?

As far as I can tell, it's not a required field, so might be clearing it an option? Then the collector can fill them correctly?

Nothing is better than incorrect data in my opinion.

And otherwise that remains a good question indeed. :-)

If no one has a better idea, I make it '[unspecified]'. I need the programmer for emptying and actually I don't want him to spend time on this at the moment

I get that, it's not the most important field.

You have my blessing, and since I don't know exactly how this works technically, I suspect it will be the best option.

Thanks for the quick response btw!

Much clearer now, thanks!

If you select a filter within, for example, series, the filter option Type still shows Poster (and all old values). Will this be automatically updated after a while?

Yip, that will improve by itself. Is in so-called cache memory with us.

Ok, clear.

I'm going to change some items to the correct values. :-)
