Dear people,

I've been running into this for a while, I look up banknotes on catawiki, but can't find them on, for example, 10 francs 2007 Burundi. so I added this (and 20 francs 2007 burunid). now I just happen to search by year and see that the banknotes in question were already added in 2010. but then via Francs 10. (NB. If someone can remove my added banknotes, please, because now they are double).

My question is actually: why these 2 forms of nominal values? does it have to do with old and new ways or the distinction between old and new notes?

In this way, duplicate banknotes quickly come in because people think they are not yet in it.

Sincerely,

Karen van Staalduine

This has already been inquired about: Nominal value .

A Super Administrator could bring order to the chaos, but as in almost all categories, even here there is a great shortage of regular administrators.

To make it really clear, the field should actually be split into value and currency . However, this requires a programmatic intervention that is currently not under discussion.

I am not an administrator of the banknotes section, but as far as I can see, the default here is that the nominal value field lists the currency first and then the numerical value.

That is, almost all values that start with a digit are wrong and should be removed. Even as a normal user you can already help to clean up.

Take, for example, the mentioned 10 francs . It currently contains 36 items, each of which you can change in Francs 10 . (And that also applies to 10 Fr. ) The incorrect nominal value is then empty and is automatically removed from the overview the following night.

I admit it's a lot of work, but ordinary administrators have to do it this way too.

It would be useful if the input form included an instruction for the (mandatory) Nominal value field, otherwise people will continue to enter incorrect variants.

Dear Karen,

I have found the 2 duplicates from Burundi and nominated them to be removed.
In the unlikely event that you create a duplicate, you can indicate this yourself by entering the title of the duplicate in question. change to "DOUBLURE of XXX"
The XXX stands for the catawiki number of the original item.
This allows the administrators to merge the items, or a super administrator to rebook the collectors associated with the duplication in question.

Mbt the denominations there are indeed many differences in import forms within the banknote catalog. The easiest way to check whether a ticket is already in the catalog is to click on the relevant country. Then take the year as selection criteria. Usually this gives an easy impression of whether the banknote in question is already in the catalog.

Enjoy collecting!
