Hello ,

Does anyone have an explanation why there is sometimes and sometimes not a code (bar code) on the back of Blake and Mortimer, I first thought that only the Dutch version had it above the copies from 501 to 800, but that is not correct either, because I have a copy with it (the riddle of Atlantis) which is numbered 420. ?

Who has the solution? or did the publisher make a mess of it?

Perhaps please provide the catalog number preceded by the sign #
Then we immediately know which strip/jet we are talking about.

Here is the LD number #32285 , but it concerns the entire series of Blake and Mortimer luxury editions, is this sufficient?

At #32285 you will see an ISBN code at the bottom left of image 3.
So in the album.

Isn't that a sticker? Most collectors will remove these as quickly as possible because the glue can cause discoloration of the linen.

That's right, Buizer of the ISBN code, but I'm talking about the EAN code (bar code),

I don't think I hear much about removing strip pins, because I haven't done it myself, because then the dealer has to do it himself and I don't think they will invest time in it.

The stickers on a linen cover do not stick well. Possibly some of them have come loose?

What's so hard to believe?
The barcode sticker is only intended to make sales easier for the retailer.
If you leave it in place, the (expensive) book will become damaged over time.
Who wouldn't want to prevent that?

I own the entire series and bought them all as the 1st owner. Yet I miss the sticker on 8 copies. Adhesion issue?

Because if you were to remove this sticker, would there be nothing left on the back? And I don't think it's a matter of adhesive strength. And I bought mine as the first owner, so the dealer must have taken them off, and or they fell off. but it's hard to believe. Couldn't it be that these came out first without a sticker, and then the rest?

And for 'the same money' the 'stickers' are/were no longer present for those 8...
Only at numbers 1, 8 and 19 there is now no 'sticker' visible in the image on LD.

And why would they have been released without a 'sticker' in the first place?
Sticker that contains the ISBN number in addition to the EAN code?
What's that good for...?
What is the use of the ean code here?
Knowing that the ean code had already existed for more than 20 years at that time...
And 'some' stickers come off faster than you think...
Not 'other' stickers...

I checked mine again, there are no stickers on the next ones, 1,6,8,9 and 11, but I see a light print of the sticker there, so it. leave something behind on the back side, but nothing visible on the other side. We'll just give the publisher the benefit of the doubt.

The ean code can be read with a scanner in the PC so that you can quickly call up a count and/or the data of the item (used in shops and warehouses). The ISBN is a unique identification code that is assigned to almost every book edition, with the aim of to facilitate and clarify transactions in the supply chain.
