There are many background pages that provide an explanation of an element from a sub-area.
Issue, Series, Country, Theme, ... are all sub-areas. The list of such a subarea contains elements.

An administrator can add an image for an element from a sub-area via the administrator module (program exclusively for administrators).

With an image it is more noticeable that there may be a 'Read more', where information is available.

Example for Theme 'Carriage':

- without additional image

- with extra image

The (simple) image attracts attention and causes the element from the sub-area (here Carriage from Thema) to be placed in bold more to the right in the overview of the sub-area.
The attraction increases the chance that the background page will be viewed.

Anyone who wants to add an image for an element from a sub-area and is not an administrator can submit that image via the forum with mention (tagging) of an administrator of the relevant section. Then the icing is put on the cake.
The tagging (use the @) will then give the administrator a signal.

We should take advantage of every opportunity to view the background pages more closely.
Background pages don't just happen automatically. These are the result of effort (time, search). With the aim of providing information, facts and/or LD agreements to other users.
Users have put a lot of time and energy into certain background pages. To make it easy for you (the information is available in one click... but you have to click).

Personally, I would find it even better if the element, which is now shown in bold in the overview, would be given a color (green or orange from LD, or blue which indicates a link) with a link function (same as the link 'Read more').
Or make the image 'clickable'...

But that requires an extra programming effort. The above tip/action is merely utilizing existing options on LD.

A beautiful carriage Raoul62, one must say. The theme indeed looks much more attractive with a nice image.

Do stagecoaches also fall under this?

I also see a few ox carts and covered wagons on the first page of Carriages . Do they also fall under the definition? Then it might be useful to add that as a name variation.

And in English a Coach can be either a Bus or a Train Carriage , but you are referring to Carriages here, it seems. It is also called Stagecoach or Diligence .

German: Karosse Droschke Pferdedroschke Pferdewagen Fiaker Kalesche Equipage Prachtkutsche Einspänner Kremser.

I also see a few ox carts and covered wagons on the first page of Carriages .

No stripspeldjes these do not fall under carriages but were entered incorrectly at some point. They do fall under carriages again.
A stagecoach is a stagecoach, but not every stagecoach is a stagecoach.
The translations and the carriage theme need to be looked at again, I agree.

Sorry, was slightly off topic.

But if you're messing around with images, you could also go a step further:

But if you're messing around with images, you could also go a step further:

There is something in that... And indeed, it would be fiddly to add that image manually in tens of thousands of places.

Collectioneur
If it doesn't require great effort...
Would it be possible, if there is no image available for a sub-area (an image that only an administrator can add), to show an image of a large question mark or an information - I (letter) by default in the overview page of that sub-area? ?

It can also be a creative representation, a combination of a DoDo head and a question mark ... or such an animation à la 'Oops' (question mark that comes and grows from the DoDo head).

See example of comic pins (the image has been added for that one sub-area).

(image that only an administrator can add)

We want to make it possible for non-administrators to post an image there

And will there also be an overview 'New to the background pages' on the main screen of a section?
