hello,
I have a series of Belgian "silver coins" of 50 BEF and 100 BEF
from the years 1948-1951.
These used to be in a bank vault and are now oxidized.
How to make it a bit cleaner?
i tried 1 with toothpaste and toothbrush,
great result….

however I don't know if this is advisable.
Much more than the face value of the time,
i.e. 50 or 100 BEF are they worth it?

mvg
Luc

I sometimes use dish soap with lemon for silver coins. Also always good results.

I certainly wouldn't use dish soap and acid! What you especially have to ask yourself is whether you are sure that you want to polish your coins. It often makes them unnatural and almost always reduces the value of your coins.

ok,
but oxidized silver, with spots is not visible, is it?
for that you do not have to brush, that the coin immediately looks brand new,
and it will automatically become dirty again after a while.
Or is it chosen or recommended never to clean it up a bit?
