It bothers me that quite a few stamps are placed without an image, and especially stamped, I would like to see what I buy, not that you receive a piece of old paper with div. rust spots and where quite a few teeth have been lost. I buy quite a lot but never anything without an image, I also always sell with an image, little effort to make a scan, the price differences are sometimes quite intense, but well, I keep buying on ebay, everything is often neat pictured and the prices are often not too bad. Like last Dodo, but for many traders it is apparently too much work to make a quick scan, a pity,

In certain circumstances you are right.
But in the end it is the seller who decides to put himself 'in the bag'.

With condition 'Minh new', your own image is actually not necessary. MNH means: completely intact, as it was offered and traded at the counters of the Postal Services. Not much can go wrong with that. Everyone knows what a stamp should look like. Discussion regarding the highest condition (as in other sections, eg 'Mint condition') is excluded for stamps.

In condition 'Unused', the back (gum side if it concerns gummed or self-adhesive stamps) is no longer intact. Gum is (partially) gone, spots on the gum, ... This can give rise to discussions, insofar as the back side is largely affected.
In condition 'Unused', a scan of the back in a shop would clarify a lot. Rust stains for example, that is out of the question (always).
Condition 'Unused' is a damaged stamp (for example the back), but a damaged stamp is therefore not a stamp in the condition 'Unused'.
In principle, the damage with 'Unused' should be minimal. Even without your own image in the shop. As a buyer you should count on that. But sometimes I also get those that are too damaged.

In condition 'Stamped' it is bad. There is no 'CTO' condition, so they are also marked 'Stamped'. However, the collector of canceled material becomes irritable when receiving CTO canceled stamps.
A bit of stamping ink that suggests that it has been stamped has previously 'walked' or 'used'. That is not what a collector of 'Stamped' material is looking for.
Your own scan in the shop with the offer can clarify why someone puts the item for sale at 2 euros, while everyone else wants to sell it cheaper. A neat stamp, with legible place name and date ... that's 'Stamped'.

The better offer usually has its own image. After all, without an image, an item that is offered more expensive than the rest will never be sold. You just don't sell that, so you're putting yourself in the pocket as a seller.

I agree with the questioner that I do not buy without a photo. Especially when unused, quite large differences are possible. For example, I am not a fan of thick stickers, but I do like original gum, so no soaked stamps that happen to not have been stamped. Also stamped, one is not the other.

But as a seller who doesn't even have a very large shop, I know that "a scan" is doable, but it is a few minutes work per item and that quickly adds up. I mainly make scans where I think the buyer might need it. And maybe I misjudge that sometimes. If a potential buyer asks, I can always add it later. Has happened 2x after which they didn't buy it: also fine.
