When entering we have the options series and series. Series and series are words that have been given different meanings in LD. But still causes confusion.
Just as an example https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/5408007-jan- steel

That is a series of 3 books with the same main characters. Series is not the right choice, but main character, series. However, in the latter case you cannot traditionally add a part number. I always put that at series, but yes the series is then at miscellaneous. I could come up with a series name, but actually that wouldn't be good.

Hi Harry56
A further proposal needs to be made about what a sequence is. Compare the sf series with Meulenhoff, in which different series are also identified, such as Duin, while the series is numbered consecutively. Mi. is a series per publisher, see also for example (nice search!) Blueberry.
Diverse is currently a dragon of a series, can't get through anymore

Morits

It is actually too hot for the hobby...

In itself it has never been such a problem, after all books are often placed together as a series.
I think it would be better if the option series is separated from series/hero.
Allow a number  for series. something like that. Perhaps it is too complex.

Various is a dragon of a series at the moment, can't get through anymore
Therefore, in comics, miscellaneous is also FORBIDDEN as a series name, contains exactly zero information, and does not help catalog the books.
These booklets should have had the series name "roelofs van Goor editions" or something like that.

Series is ALWAYS about the content, series is ALWAYS about the method of publishing. Entering a serial number at serial is therefore a "mortal sin", Never do.

Entering a series number  at series is therefore a "dead sin", Never do.
The Story number in Books should of course be linked to the Series/hero, just like in Comics. The way it is happening now is completely inadequate.

But this requires a thorough expansion in this section, whereby (as with comics) both the Series/hero and the authors are not linked to an publication, but to its content.

@Jilles has already created the series name ( thanks ! ) , so that's better than a number at "miscellaneous" , that does indeed make no sense and pollutes everything. In the instructions about book series it also states under 2 that you may make a "logical" series name. Which often has to do with a series. Unnecessarily, also in this case SERIES has only a connection with the 3 part SERIES with the numbering of K. Norel.

Have a question in general, not quite clear to me.
Concerns, Chronicles of the Underworld by Cassandra Clare
The Chronicles of the Underworld consists of six parts, all 6 parts in Dutch, and all 6 parts in English (The Mortal Instruments) are at LD.
Here is an example #2510257 this is the Chronicles of the Underworld 1 this is listed as a subtitle, I don't think it is quite right.
Where should Chronicles of the Underworld be now at Book series, then one can also enter Number in book series, or does it belong to Series / Hero

'Chronicle of the Underworld' is basically part of Series/Hero. The number can be filled in at the place of the number in the series (if there is no series).
If there is a numbered series, then the number of the series can be stated under Details.

For the English parts, the Dutch series should actually be entered (if you use the Dutch version of LD).

If a book has not been released in a series, the series place is often used for the name of a series.
