The more I look at it, the more I doubt whether the front cover scans of the following comics are my own scans. In fact, I increasingly doubt whether these comics even exist.
#1141351
I ordered these comics from Lastdodo shops. And when I got them home they all had a bar code with the text direct edition instead of a black block where the bar code should have been.
I have never seen them anywhere in real life or on the internet. Or on a website such as in the Comics Price Guide as a variant.
The only time I came across this was with digital downloadable comics.

Are there collectors who know more about it or these comics with black block in their possession?

Also in the Marvel/Fandom database they are not listed, not even in Mycomicshop.
The ask the importer to post real scans of the front and back.
Otherwise just report them as duplication of the items with barcode.

there are several possibilities. Paid or unpaid sites where you can download comics as a file and then read on your computer, mobile or tablet. Or apps that you subscribe to and then you can read almost all comics digitally, for example the Marvel Unlimited app. I myself do not use these options. Love paper comics.

I mean it differently: Nowadays you have the choice of an e-reader or a book in the flesh, but also print on demand. But as I now read in the example you mentioned, some comics are no longer even printed, but are "released" and read via apps and thus apparently downloadable and printable or not. If so, these are printed by private individuals and then sold and distributed. Am I seeing that right?

aside: will make it a bit more difficult by means of differences in those things (interested, ..go and search).
Edition variants is the keyword. Newsstand and Direct Editions (paper) (please search as I don't want to paste commercial links).

Harry: digital comics come in different versions : mostly in epub, pdf or variation cbz, mobi etc. (main term e-book).
Normally (nowadays) when designing, the publisher/editor/publisher (or client) can choose how to publish: (usually 3 > paper or e-book and nowadays also a lot of audio). With the exception of audio, the 'layout' is already digital, so why not? That's where commerce comes in. Paper is expensive (quality > glossy, standard or mass market ? ).. you name it. The trend nowadays is : first flood the market with ebook, and for the die-hard readers paper (as cheap as possible, if there is a market for it OR superior quality with corresponding price tag).

If you look illegally, most are 'ripped' versions of the original 'file'.
And they can often be found in the ill. circuits.
Then you have the 'home industry' editions. Scanning a book or comic, and then digitizing it.
That is what the big 'libraries' also do for preservation (archiving).

And of course: anyone who can print can also make something out of it. (Restrictions then apply to quality and format, but a real printer will be careful with illegal forms (I hope), and 1 copy? ..
And blackening those blocks on images, well that seems more like obscuring a 'source' in order to 'manipulate' the edition form. (then you do indeed not have the original item, but a simulation).

Thank you for the nice explanation.
Yes I am a Die Hard reader up to and including my target date 95 + in reasonable health and with ditto eyes and a good sense of smell, I really do not understand that reading from a tablet let alone the flat look at illustrations in a comic page. I have to have it all in my hands and be able to taste everything, browse and also put it in a bookcase. An overview with beautiful pictures and possibilities of digital archiving is a wonderful extra, which I make grateful use of, thanks to, for example, Lastdodo. Digital books and comic books obviously have, what you would call libraries, great advantages.

Thanks for the much better explanation than I did. I must admit that I am not really familiar with digital publishing.
In addition to Newsstand and Direct Editions (paper) variants, you also have the cover drawing variants.
About the comics I placed in the first post. If these were Direct or Newsstand variants they would also have been in the Comics Price Guide.

I am also someone of the old school who likes to hold paper in his hands. When I read digitally I only get problems with my eyes.

They are also not in the Marvel/Fandom database, not even in Mycomicshop.
Ask the importer for to post real scans of the front and back.
Otherwise report them as duplication of the items with barcode.

After more than a week of waiting, still no response to my message to the importer of the comics.
Even no response to a message I sent to someone who has them in his shop.
Now reported as duplicate.
