Hi all, new user here, I registered because I found a picture of a coin (#6957679) that is very very similar to one I found at the weekend, while metal detecting. Here are some pictures of my coin: https://imgur.com/a/US0uu5c

I am quite confident that my coin is a 1/8 Ecu (it has V and III near the crest) and thanks to the photo of that other 1617 1/4 Ecu coin, I am also now confident that mine has the same privy park (lion's head).

However, the mint mark on my coin is different - it's a sort of cross, which I believe is called a cross pattee. If so, can anyone tell me what mint uses this as a symbol? Is this even the mint mark? I'm very new to all this so any help anyone can give would be most welcome :)

For info, this was discovered near Edinburgh in Scotland.

Thanks!

Ah sorry, I think it's a Saint Lo minted coin - there appears to be a backwards C under the shield.
