Cameras/800 cameras from between 1930 and 195032 messages

Hoi,

My neighbor wants to sell his 800 different working video cameras to me. These video cameras are all from between 1930 and 1950. Now I have no idea what to give for such a thing? They are all mechanical (not with batteries) and all still work. I suspect that there will be a number of more expensive cameras here. Someone who can give me tips or a target price?

No kidding, if there are Leicas or Hasselblades in between, it could end up in the papers ...

Uh, Morits (and Thaf?), aren't we talking about Video cameras, and not photo cameras ???

And yes John's Phonovision Baird was already there in 1928. Although for various reasons I cannot imagine Thaf's neighbor has one of them. They must almost be iconoscopes. That was the most used system between 1930 and 1950.

Agree that a stock of 800 iconoscopes doesn't sound like something someone has in the attic.

But those things do exist. And they are honestly true from before 1950. Worked with a kind of light-sensitive gramophone record.

Just visited, apparently most of them are from between 1950 and 1975 (unfortunately).

I don't know anything about it, but with a collection of 800 pieces you are, even if you assume that 80% worthless junk and the rest only yields 50 to 100 euros each, already above 10,000. So that 10,000 seems more like a lower limit than an upper limit.

zitten redelijk wat waardevolle (verzamel) stukken bij , maar ik zou er geen prijs kunnen op plakken .

wat was de reden van de verkoop , moet toch pijn doen om dit na zoveel jaren weg te doen ?

ik ben tevens ook een verzamelaar van beperkte oude foto / film camera's en projectors .

ik ga er ook enkele wegdoen en me beperken tot enkel merken en soorten , anders word het te gek voor woorden , heb ook al rond de 200 foto/film camera's en dergelijke , met een hobby moet je ergens een lijn trekken , als je sterft gooien ze toch maar alles bij een kringloopwinkel binnen of op de container (Grrrrrrrrrrrrr).

There are quite a few valuable (collection) pieces included, but I couldn't put a price on it.

what was the reason for the sale, must it hurt to get rid of this after so many years?

I will also get rid of some and limit myself to only brands and types, otherwise it will be too crazy for words, I already have around 200 photo/film cameras and the like, with a hobby you have to draw a line somewhere, if you die throw it they just take everything in at a thrift store or on the container (Grrrrrrrrrrrrr).

The reason for the sale is because the man selling them is bedridden, he is almost 90 years old. I'm his neighbor and he asked if I don't want to sell them for him. Can I contact a museum? Would they possibly be interested in the entire collection?

Must say via the link beautiful collection and to place it in the catalog is a time consuming job. But a grateful ????

Don't think so Dick52 @ the question is already almost 8 months old so approx. 240 days a day 2 items in the catalog approx. 10 minutes of work the questioner had already passed halfway

In that my collection disappears into nothingness with about 250 - 300 different items ..... :)

There are still 700 cameras and 800 projectors. There are also large cinema projectors and a lot of old movie posters from the 1940s-50s-60s. I miss the time to put them all on Catawiki. I know far too little about it myself. Can Catawiki not come and do this? :)

I would certainly go to great lengths to put those movie posters on Catawiki and put them up for sale. There can be very valuable items among them.

And if you want to sell something, you will really have to make an effort yourself, someone else does not do that for you, does not yield anything for anyone and only costs a lot. time

I wouldn't be surprised if 2 items from this gigantic collection are now with me.

I recently acquired 2 "old" film cameras at the photography auction here and I recognize the wooden "feet" where the cameras are mounted ..... :)

Now you pay attention to place them nicely in the catalog
