It wouldn't be much easier if the title had the number of the puzzle right away.

Now there are already several puzzles double in one with and the other without leading zero.

Especially the puzzles of Jan van Haasteren are very popular and they are therefore in various formats but with the same title with number in the title you can immediately see which one has already been entered ..

I have now focused on the Jumbo puzzles because I entered a puzzle there this afternoon and looked through all the pages just to be sure.

Do you know what it is, Marjan? Unfortunately, with puzzles there are many people who do not bother to check whether their puzzle is already there. Sometimes a single word in the search bar is enough to find your puzzle. What many people also do is enter all puzzles at the same time for 1 item in a series of multiple puzzles. That is also not the intention.

The number field is there to make clear which puzzle it is and can be filled in. Using this field for numbering does not increase the title. Some names are very long and if you also need a long number.

If you see a double puzzle, change the title of the worst entered puzzle to double of ... And then on the Enter the number of that better puzzle in dots.

I also wish you good luck with the Jumbo puzzles. While you're at it, would you like to change those Jumbo puzzles with those double names? Jumbo / Jigswa is of course not a brand, as Jigsaw is simply the English word for puzzle. And Jumbo International is also just Jumbo, but international. The other variants have already been somewhat thinned out, but are of course also just Jumbo.

The puzzles section does not have its own manager (s) and then such a section will automatically become a mess.

disney,

So I changed the Jumbo jigsaw to JUMBO.

There is now another puzzle and I don't think it's JUMBO.

Duplicate ones: 604211 becomes 178447 the zoo

604165 becomes 176073 hockey

1324297 becomes 1324247 usa i spy.

The Hausemann & amp; Hötte (Jumbo's real name) once also published a very nice book about the history of Jumbo in Amsterdam. Very educational and a lot of fun! It was published on the occasion of the company's 125th anniversary. See here for more information.

Very strange that the puzzles section and actually the toys section have no manager at all! Toys I think because Arwin (very good ex-Catalog manager) wanted to clean up this section and subdivide what the object is in separate sections (toys are such a common name!). Surely there are quite a few collectors of this!

Are there really no people who want to register as an administrator?

Dear Marian,

a CataWiki Catalog is made for and by Collectors (who can also sell). Great that you are also reorganizing the Jumbo puzzles, but please note a few things:

- Don't just change a brand name! Jumbo is called Jumbo without capitals. Administrators can specify other names that will then be displayed as the same name if such a different name is entered. JUMBO is then 1 of them.

- Correctly indicate duplicates in the title. If you see a puzzle that has already been in it once, you first check very carefully whether it is really about the same puzzle. If that is the case, then you check which version is best described and preferably photographed the clearest (in connection with control by (future) administrators) and then you change the title of the other version to Doublure van .... And on those dots you place the number of the better item.

- Title of a puzzle: Don't make up titles if there is something like a title on it. 176073 hockey is actually 176073 KNHB, because that's what it says on the side of the box. To check this, look at the duplication and there you will see the side of the box. You then use that as image 3 and image 2 is the completed puzzle.

- Changing titles: Every CataWiki member can change an item himself if he thinks something is wrong. You can also change 1324247 yourself.

Finally, the remark: Who is Danny? Pegag's real name is Peter and my name is Jouke.

Jouke,

Sorry but I was so focused on copying the songs correctly that I didn't pay attention to the name, it should have been Disney of course.

You write I can change 1324247 myself but I don't know how and I don't think it would be such a good idea to start with that when I start focusing you can see the consequences.

I only removed jaig / saw from Jumbo jig / saw. Didn't find that one puzzle, because I don't think that's Jumbo, Couldn't find any features either. Yesterday I would have changed a puzzle at Junbo to Jumbo.

Titles I really will not change, I just put the numbers in front of it, but next time just do that with a message here. Maybe with a new message: Doubleres.
